Separate the role of each statement first
A balance sheet is a snapshot, an income statement shows period performance, and a cash-flow statement shows how money actually moved.
Instead of memorizing each statement, note which business question it answers in the company story.
Do not interpret ratios in isolation
Current ratio, gross margin, or leverage rarely decide anything alone; trend and industry context make them useful.
In derso, this is exactly where you can pause and ask Zeynep whether a ratio looks healthy for that company.
Close the loop with an exam
Feeling that you understood is not enough; knowledge sticks when you can answer open-ended interpretation questions in your own words.
