Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 9, 2026
Derso is a learning platform with a talking AI teacher. Our privacy approach is simple: we do not collect more than needed, we do not sell your data for advertising, and we delete your data when you delete your account.
What do we collect?
- Account: name and email. Guest mode uses an anonymous device account without requiring email.
- Learning data: where you left lessons, study sessions, objective progress, and exam results.
- Questions you ask: transcripts are stored; voice recordings are not stored after transcription.
- Speaking-practice audio: in English speaking practice (including the level test and scenario sessions), your voice is processed solely to transcribe it into text. Raw audio is not stored permanently; only the written transcript, corrections, and the session report are kept in your session history, and they are deleted when you delete your account.
What do we not do?
- We do not sell your data or share it with ad networks.
- We do not use tracking cookies without consent.
- We do not keep a library of voice recordings.
AI and your data
Your questions and speaking-practice content are sent to AI providers, without direct identity details, for transcription (speech recognition), response generation (language models), and voice output (text-to-speech). Enterprise API terms are used so this content is not used for model training by the providers.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and access is permission-based. Passwords are irreversibly hashed.
